Your resume is your most important job search tool. Let’s get it right.

My goal is to help you get back to work as quickly as possible, and your resume is a critical step in that process.

Having a resume you feel proud of is like taking a giant step toward your next job.

I’ve got a step-by-step method I’ll walk you through to get your resume written quickly.

I know you are eager to regain your professional self and use your education and your expertise to earn an income that will support your family. Let’s work together to get you there.

I’m Katie Dunn. I’m a mom to 4, wife, career coach, entrepreneur, podcaster and huge advocate of working moms. And while I’ve always been a working mom, I spent many years working at being a mom rather than working outside my home in a full-time, paid job. When my kids got a little older and I was ready to go back to the paid workforce, I was surprised and saddened to realize how difficult it was to make that transition.

So I started Back to Business to help other women return to the workforce after a career break. Back to Business began as a conference in Raleigh, NC. I created an event that brought together women who wanted to return to work with experts who could educate them on how to conduct their job search and with companies who were interested in hiring them. And guess what? It worked!

Back to Business has evolved into an educational company whose goal is to help women return to work after a career break. We teach women how to job search, because I know that returning to work after a break requires a different kind of job search.

I think being a mom is the most important job you’ll ever have, so I want to help women have the flexibility in their lives to take a career break if they want to and then be able to return to the paid workforce. It’s about honoring and respecting the work we do as mothers, and making it possible for a career to accommodate the different phases of a woman’s life.

Welcome! I’m really glad you’re here.

Your resume should portray you in the best possible light, showcasing your work experience, broadcasting your potential for future success and clearly telling a hiring manager why they should interview you. If you’ve taken time off from your career and are now ready to rejoin the paid workforce, it’s time to get that resume in gear!

You’re probably wondering:

  • “How do I handle my career gap on my resume?”
  • “How do I write a profile statement that sums up my career?”
  • “Should I include the year I earned my degree?”

I’ve got answers to all of these questions and more! I’ll walk you through every section of your resume and tell you exactly what information to include. Let’s do this together!

I’ll be sharing my proven process for building your return-to-work resume. It includes insider tips and expert advice from my time as a recruiter & a career coach.

FAQ #1: What is included in this course?

The Build Your Return-To-Work Resume digital course includes 5 modules that are broken down into 10 videos to walk you through the process step by step. There are also worksheets, PDFs and printable directions to keep you on track and to make it easy to complete each step.

FAQ #2: Why invest in a digital course when I could pay someone to write my resume?

Sure, you could pay someone to write a resume for you, but when you write it yourself you’re really taking control of your job search. Also, you’ll need to be intimately familiar with every word on the page because it’s all fair game when you’re in an interview and if you wrote it yourself you’ll know it inside-out! And that’s a huge confidence booster when you’re interviewing.

FAQ #3: Is this course really for women like me who haven’t worked in many years?

It sure is! In fact, you are exactly who I build this course for! I think being a mom is the most important job you’ll ever have, so I want to help women have the flexibility in their lives to take a career break if they want to and to then be able to return to the paid workforce. It’s about honoring and respecting the work we do as mothers, and making it possible for a career to accommodate the different phases of a woman’s life.

I’ve got 4 kids myself and I cherish the time I spent out of the paid workforce raising them. But when I was ready to return to work, I was unsure of my direction and how to build a resume that would put my career in the best light. Through professional training, personal experience, interviews with resume experts and some trial-and-error, I’ve learned how to streamline the process and how to position you for success on your resume.

FAQ #4: How much time will this course take?

This course includes 10 short videos that will take a total of less than 2 hours to watch. The process of building your resume is broken down into steps that will take additional time to complete. Expect to spend about 3-4 hours to go through this course and come out with a polished resume when you are finished.

FAQ #5: Do I need an advanced level of technology skills to complete this course?

Nope! I’m here to make this as easy as possible and complicated technology really isn’t my thing! You’ll go through modules 1-5, watching videos and completing exercises to build your resume step by step. You’ll just press play on videos and open up documents to see the handouts and worksheets. It’s easy-peasy!

FAQ #6: When and how can I purchase this course?

Build Your Return-to-Work Resume will be available for purchase starting on Saturday, July, 2. This course will only be available to purchase for 2 weeks. After that, I’ll be taking it down to focus on making sure the women in the course are having a great experience. Don’t worry – if you buy the course, you own it forever and you can do it on your own time and at your own speed.

FAQ #7: Is there a refund policy?

If you complete the course and have completed every exercise but are not able to put together a resume, I will refund your money. But I’m very certain that, given my years of experience as a career coach, I can successfully guide you through this process so I don’t anticipate you having any problem with it.
